Operating since January 1st 1997 on the chemical site of Monthey, Cimo Compagnie Industrielle de Monthey SA is owned by BASF and Syngenta Crop Protection in the form of a Joint Venture between these two partners. Using highly advanced technologies, Cimo provides its services primarily to the chemical site, but also to third-party customers. Amongst others, Cimo is active in the following areas: technical maintenance, HSSE (Health, Safety, Environment), occupational medicine, engineering and automation, energy production and distribution, waste treatment, training...

Cimo is also responsible for managing the contaminated sites of the chemical plant in Monthey and their potential rehabilitation, according to the Federal Ordinance on the remediation of polluted sites (OSites).

Cimo trains apprentices in eight different trades. Cimo is also active in in-service training (computer, foreign languages, personnel management, etc..) and provides meeting rooms and computer training rooms to the companies on the site.

| Electricity |
|
Cimo ensures the electricity supply to the chemical site of Monthey as well as to the municipalities of Monthey and Troistorrents.
Cimo produces green energy. To do this, it has two "down stream" hydroelectric power facilities on the Vièze and Tine rivers.
